Scholarship enabled student to prepare for career as a special educator

February 18, 2009

Elizabeth Lobendahn
Elizabeth Lobendahn graduated in December from the David O. McKay School of Education with a degree in special education. Her BYU studies and time as a student teacher focused on students with severe disabilities. "I hope that my work not only helps these students be successful in life but also helps their parents know that there are people who truly care and want the best for their children," she says. "At BYU I learned how to be an effective teacher."

Lobendahn worked through college to pay for living expenses. Gratefully she received a scholarship that helped with tuition. To those who made the scholarship possible, she says, “Your generosity was an answer to my prayers.”
