Samoa General Scholarship Fund

Samoa Pesega Church School

During the 1920s, '30s, and '40s, missionaries supported several schools in Samoa that met in traditional open-air, thatched-roof "fales."  By 1949, mission president Golden H. Hale reported that at one school "the enrollment is over the 500 mark and we are having such hard time to house them."

In December of 1953, Elder LeGrand Richards dedicated the new Pesega School.  More than 1200 Samoan students now attend Church schools at three locations: the LDS Church College in Pesega, LDS Church College and Primary School in Vaiola, and the Sauniatu Primary School.  Each school has a beautiful modern campus and rich community history.

The school programs provide graduates with the skills to attend regional technical schools and universities as well as prepare them for Church missionary and leadership responsibilities.  Your donations provide scholarships for students with the greatest needs.
