Funding priorities at the Polynesian Cultural Center:

  • Polynesian Cultural Center Work-Study Opportunities

    The Polynesian Cultural Center employs approximately 700 BYU-Hawaii students each semester. Polynesian Cultural Center work-study opportunities provide spiritually worthy, academically capable, but financially disadvantaged young people with access to higher education.

  • Iosepa Sailing and Maintenance

    The centerpiece of BYU–Hawaii’s Hawaiian Studies program is Iosepa, a 57-foot Hawaiian voyaging canoe.

Seerapus' Faith Brought Them from India to Study and Work in Laie

 Their journey has been an amazing adventure that began with a heartfelt prayer searching for the Lord’s guidance. Ramana and Aruna Seerapu were doing well in their homeland of India. They had a bright, busy future. Then a Church leader suggested that they consider enrolling at Brigham Young University - Hawaii to further their education. “We did not come because the mission president asked us to,” says Aruna. “We came because the Spirit told us to come.”  Full Story
